About Us

GreenTree Forest Products, Inc was established in 1990.  GreenTree currently produces 8,000,000 million board feet of Appalachian hardwood lumber annually.  GreenTree is owned and operated by the third generation of a sawmill Family.  This legacy began in 1952 when J C Wells and his four sons, Don, Jim, Bill and David ordered their first Corley sawmill, and had it shipped to their farm in Morehead, Kentucky. 

From there it grew into a large sawmill and pallet manufacturing facility.  In the spring of 2003, David Wells' children, James, Greg and Michelle, purchased the J C Wells & Sons business and renamed it Valley View Hardwoods, Inc.  They then set out on a mission to bring the current facility up to date and modernize the equipment.  Today Valley View Hardwoods produces an additional 12,000,000 of hardwood lumber, bringing our total annual production to approximately 20,000,000 board feet.

We are located in the Appalachian mountains of eastern Kentucky, many believe this to be the hardwood capital of the world.  We are conveniently located near the I-64 & I-75 interstates as well as the AA highway giving us the ability to quickly serve customers up and down the Eastern United states.

We ship on our company owned trucks as well as a fleet of contracted carriers and are proud of our just in time deliveries to many of our pallet customers.
